My First REAL Post!

My First REAL Post!

(AND ON FRIDAY 13TH!!! )

Hi everyone!

I was unsure which polish to start my blog with, so I just closed my eyes, stuck my hand in the box and lifted a random one out.

It was a polish  by a company called Vollare Cosmetics. It does not have a colour name but it does have a number... unfortunately I can't tell you it as it's been rubbed off! :s

I had never heard of this brand before but it was bought for me by my DH from Prague. (I have a range of these colours, so will swatch them all at some point)
It is a lovely pale mint green shade that goes on quite sheer so will need several coats. I used 3. I noticed it had a very strong smell, like seaside rock you'd get from Newcastle/Blackpool etc! lol!

3 coats of Vollare Cosmetics No:?

After it had dried (each coat for 20 mins) I put on 2 coats of Hedy's Manishma - Beyond Opal. This is a gorgeous opal sheer polish that shimmers green and purple.

This is it indoors looking purple

This is it in artificial light looking green

After this had dried, I decided to use my nail art pen/brush Pink Tease in Black and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Emerald city to do a leopard print on my ring fingers

I also used a base and top coat - both La Femme.

I know I need to get my photo skills sorted. I'll get better as I go along :D

I hope you enjoyed

  2. Thanks :)
I have to do freehand as I've no stamps or anything similar. I am lucky to have quite a steady hand but believe me, my very first attempt to do these a few months back did NOT turn out like this! lol!

    1. i recently bought a set of M.A.S.H. plates (1-25) from amazon.com for a BARGAIN that I have been having fun with but since i am limited on polishes at the moment it's difficult finding polishes that are good for stamping - and i don't want to spend the money for the special stamping polishes so for now it's been trial and error for me with my stamping manis lol

    2. I will most likely purchase a stamping kit in the near future so thanks for the tip on amazon :D I'm sure I read somewhere online about cheap polishes that work for stamping... If I find it again, I'll let you know :)

  3. I love this and normally don't like green, funny that I say that and have been liking it more and more lately - maybe I just don't like it on me! Okay, enough rambling, I love this, I love accent nails!!

  4. That looks super! I still haven't done leopard print, maybe I will.
PS: I came and found this blog post because I saw you say your first post was on Friday the 13th. I started my blog on Thursday the 12th and I remember rushing to post it so I didn't start on the 13th, so neat.

    1. Thankyou so much :) You should try leopard spots. My first try didn't turn out so great but it's so easy now,I could do it with my eyes closed... well, maybe that's exaggerating a bit but it's easy! lol! I didn't realise it was on fri 13th til I was ready to publish. I nearly didn't but then thought, hey-ho, it's lucky for some! Fingers crossed!! :D
