Requested Nail Art - Xbox Nails

Hi Guys :)

This was requested by my gorgeous hubby Gary on the facebook page :)

He has obviously already seen them and said he loves them, so I am chuffed to bits :)

Here is a list of the undies used:

Thumb, middle and pinkie, La Femme - Ebony,
Index finger is Franken - Graphite,
and Ring finger is, believe it or not, ridge filler! lol!

I don't actually own a 'tipex' white so use that instead because I don't have ridges.

The logo colours are:

Thumb, middle finger logo and some swirls on the ring and index fingers, Vollare - No 96
Swirls on the index and ring finger, Vollare, - No 99
Swirls on index, Sally Hansen - Emerald City
Pinkie, Pink Tease - Red

Above is a slightly blurry but less shiny photo to let you see the ring finger a bit better. I didn't get many good pics of this :( But for those of you who want to know what the doodles mean, read on...

The thumb is the simple Power symbol.
The index finger is the current Xbox woosh logo.
The middle finger has gone a bit retro with the original Xbox X logo.
The ring finger is the Xbox ring/ripple/swirl logo.
And finally the pinkie is the dreaded RROD (Red Ring Of Death)!

Also, I tried something different with this mani. My lovely reader Bug had recently tried the dry marble technique and when I came to do this mani, I was reminded of it. So, The index, middle and pinkie were painted straight on the nail but the thumb and ring finger logos were painted onto a sandwich bag. I peeled them off when they were dry and then placed them onto the nails and covered them with clear polish. I tried to do all the logos this way but they ripped as I peeled them off the bag. But, nevertheless, I'm happy with this mani. :)

Hope you like it

Does This Look Like It's Glowing?

Hi guys :)

Today I have a simple mani. I was just messing about but I actually quite liked this so I thought I'd post it so you guys could see.

It was the purple that I had on in the Biletto post (Deep Purple Pearl by LaFemme) with Sally Hansen, Hidden Treasure on top.

If you click on the before pic you will see a beautiful pink shimmer in this polish that I just love! Gorgeous! I was just messing around, as you do, and lifted my HT that I haven't used in a while. I plastered a really thick coat on each nail and was gobsmacked just how stunning it was over the purple. To me, it looked like a pink fire smouldering away.

Here it is from the Green angle. I forgot just how lovely this polish could be, layered. I will definitely be using it more often on other colours.

Later, Nailies!

Plastic Pink And Glitzy Tips

Boy, is that title a mouthful! I keep saying 'Plastic Plink'! Ha!

Hi Guys :)

Now, I'm not normally one to wear pink. Before I had my daughter, I don't think I had any pink in my house. In fact, The only reason I own pink polish is because Mr Pixie~Nails bought me a huge stash of polish (15 or so bottles) on a trip to Prague, and it included about 3 or 4 pinks. I then got some included in a bulk purchase on ebay. And from then, I have grown to like this once detested colour.

This is brand, La Femme. It doesn't have a visible name or number so I call it Candy. It's got a gorgeous plastic look about it and it's a super-girly barbie pink. If you look closely, you can see a slight shimmer but I didn't notice this irl. This went on like a dream. A perfect 1-coater if applied with care. I used 2, out of habit.

This is Chit Chat nail varnish - Pink. It is made exclusively for Poundland and comes in a variety of colours. I love these, they are jam-packed with glitter and wonderful for making frankens with.

These didn't need to be dabbed on like some glitter polishes as the glitter placed itself perfectly. The photo above was only 1 coat on the tips! Normally I'd have to dab, dab, dab to get this.

The next couple of pictures are the mani a few days old, about 3 if I remember correctly. I got bored, like I do after a few days so I added my Glitterball franken. It was made with loose, large holo hex glitters from ebay and Fairy Dust from La Femme.

So there you have it, possibly my last vault photo for now. My nails are back to a decent state so I will be ok posting pics of them. XD

Later Nailies :D

Butterflyawaywithme!

I know people have done this mani loads but I don't have the stamps (or any stamps for that matter) so I decided to try and do it free~hand.

In this mani I used, a base coat of Beauty UK - Turquoise Shimmer (which is a gorgeous creme) with a coat of Sally Hansen's HD in Spectrum over this. I then used my black nail art pen to draw the wing shapes and a butterfly on the accent nails (I painted a blue wing on top of the white (ridge filler!!) to show the wing on the accent nails). I finished of with white nail pen dots on all nails. I didn't wait long enough to finish off with a topcoat as the white was dragged into the black in some nails. Ah well... lol.

I didn't want to do wing overkill so I gave each hand a butterfly accent nail.

Blurred to show the flecks in Spectrum
Hope you liked

Add a pinch of glitter

Hi everyone :)

As you probably know, if you read all my posts, I get bored easy with my manis and feel the urge to add something to it a day or 2 after doing one.

So, for people that are expecting it, I won't be letting you down... :)

For this is my last mani with a lafemme cosmos top coat.

I added glitter!
This didn't photograph too well, so I decided to be a bit arty farty about it...

Bokeh in the bathroom and looking very pinky

Another Bokeh shot to capture the glitter

This is colour accurate - bokeh style!

Polishes used.
I love layering glitter, all sorts of glitter, but there is something about layering similar colours of glitter to the polish I'm wearing, that I love.

Sorry for the Blurry post but some things are hard to capture on my camera :(

Simple French Mani

Just what the title says...

Do you ever have those days were you need a break from all the colour and glitter? I do... and whats better than a gorgeous french mani?

Sally Hansen French mani in white with a white shimmer

I use Sally Hansen In The Pink for my base.

Excuse the nubs!

LaFemme clear top coat
All these pictures were taken in the same light, but with the one below, I have adjusted the contrast so you could see Vollare Colorado - 317, the gorgeous shimmery white, that I have put on the tips.

Rainbow gradient.... SIDEWAYS

With all the rainbow gradients about, I thought I'd try something different.

Side gradient

I just painted my nails white and when dried, Sponged on LaFemme - Deep Purple Pearl

The type of sponge I use

With one coat. I used two.
As you can see in the picture above, I sponged just over half of the nail.

Before top coat

I then took Vollare Colorado - 409 and sponged the other half, overlapping the purple. For those who have tried this technique you will know how awkward it is to get perfect, so if you are only trying this for the first time, expect too-ing and fro-ing with the 2 colours.

I then sponged half my index finger with the blue and overlapped with Sally Hansen - Emerald City.
Then again, half with Emerald City on the middle finger and finished with NYC - Lemon Cream.
On the ring finger continuing with the Lemon Cream, I finished with Vollare Colorado - 239.
Lastly, on the pinkie, with half painted in 239, I finished with Miss Sporty - 150.
It looks bubbly in the pictures above but it wasn't.
I waited for this to dry and topped it with La Girls - Diamond Top Coat.
...Then it got bubbly... :/

Now, you WILL get messy with this mani but just dip a bud in remover and clean up the edges.

This is my first full grad mani so be kind :)

My First REAL Post!

My First REAL Post!

(AND ON FRIDAY 13TH!!! )

Hi everyone!

I was unsure which polish to start my blog with, so I just closed my eyes, stuck my hand in the box and lifted a random one out.

It was a polish  by a company called Vollare Cosmetics. It does not have a colour name but it does have a number... unfortunately I can't tell you it as it's been rubbed off! :s

I had never heard of this brand before but it was bought for me by my DH from Prague. (I have a range of these colours, so will swatch them all at some point)
It is a lovely pale mint green shade that goes on quite sheer so will need several coats. I used 3. I noticed it had a very strong smell, like seaside rock you'd get from Newcastle/Blackpool etc! lol!

3 coats of Vollare Cosmetics No:?

After it had dried (each coat for 20 mins) I put on 2 coats of Hedy's Manishma - Beyond Opal. This is a gorgeous opal sheer polish that shimmers green and purple.

This is it indoors looking purple

This is it in artificial light looking green

2 coats of Beyond Opal

After this had dried, I decided to use my nail art pen/brush Pink Tease in Black and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Emerald city to do a leopard print on my ring fingers

Pink Tease in Black

Sally Hansen In Emerald City

I also used a base and top coat - both La Femme.

I know I need to get my photo skills sorted. I'll get better as I go along :D

I hope you enjoyed
