The hard to describe colour of Antique...

Have you ever had a polish that you just can't describe?

Well, this is a polish I have in my untrieds, it's called Antique by mien for Marks And Spencer.

 

This is a gorgeous colour. It's a metallic.... ummm.... tbh, I don't really know! lol! It's a kind of plummy, bronzey, goldy, silvery, pink.... :O

 

When I asked around the family, I got, 'a coppery pink!' and 'a mauvey brown' and even 'candied aubergine'.... bless. I have no idea how to describe this but whatever it is, it's lovely.

 

And just because it's sooooooooooo gorgeous, I decided to plaster Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure over it. It's what I do. 

 

 

This actually turned out quite nice too. Above are some different angled shots of SH/HT. You can see the different colours shimmer through.

If anyone out there has Antique, how would you describe it?

Also, yes, I have changed the shape of my nails but I will explain why in another soon to come post :)

Butterflyawaywithme!

I know people have done this mani loads but I don't have the stamps (or any stamps for that matter) so I decided to try and do it free~hand.

In this mani I used, a base coat of Beauty UK - Turquoise Shimmer (which is a gorgeous creme) with a coat of Sally Hansen's HD in Spectrum over this. I then used my black nail art pen to draw the wing shapes and a butterfly on the accent nails (I painted a blue wing on top of the white (ridge filler!!) to show the wing on the accent nails). I finished of with white nail pen dots on all nails. I didn't wait long enough to finish off with a topcoat as the white was dragged into the black in some nails. Ah well... lol.





I didn't want to do wing overkill so I gave each hand a butterfly accent nail.

Autumn nails!

PICTURE HEAVY POST!

I know it's a few weeks away yet but I thought I'd show my frankenfall polish simply called Autumn :D

The large slice glitter in this is a holographic brown which flashes all colours.
Getting photographs of this that showed all the colours, that didn't glare or blur was quite difficult!
On one hand, I layered the whole nail with Autumn.

This was made by mixing alot of orange glitter in a clear base with a very small amount (2/3 drops) of the brown i wore underneath this. I also bought some gorgeous loose glitter from ebay and mixed loads in. I'm not sure why it looks so dark in the bottle because you can see that it's super sheer on the nail wheel sample above!

On the other hand I placed loose glitter on top of wet top coat to make them stick, then covered in another topcoat. This was also difficult to photograph.

The bottom few pics showed the colour flashes best but irl this is stunning. If you look at the bottom couple of pics you can see that the glitter is different colours in each shot with greens and oranges and reds and blues. This is the kind of polish/glitter mani that needs a video! maybe next time :) If anyone is interested, I will post the link to the glitter on ebay.

Franken - Midnight Kisses

Hi guys! :)

Today, I'm showing you another franken I made, called Midnight Kisses.
This was made by mixing a lot of black with some drops of red and a good helping of purple/pink glitter. It came out very dark in the pics but IRL, it's not so dark, you can make out more of a reddy tinge in sunlight (something we are not having much of lately!)

This was a terrible picture post! haha! I really need to make some kind of light box to take my pictures but I'm not sure how to. If I get some decent photos of this, because it is lovely, I will repost them.

Sally Hansen - HD - Laser

WOW! What a stunning colour!

This is Sally Hansen's laser from the HD Collection

Isn't she gorgeous!! It has the most beautiful blue/purple glass fleck thing going on!

This is one stunning colour and I love it! Do you own this or any of the others? I got this one and many more from cosmeticsfairy. This is a site where you can buy loads of beauty products for bargain prices! I think I got this polish for £1 or something equally ridiculous! Plus, if you spend over £10, shipping is free for UK!!

Add a pinch of glitter

Hi everyone :)

As you probably know, if you read all my posts, I get bored easy with my manis and feel the urge to add something to it a day or 2 after doing one.

So, for people that are expecting it, I won't be letting you down... :)

For this is my last mani with a lafemme cosmos top coat.

I love layering glitter, all sorts of glitter, but there is something about layering similar colours of glitter to the polish I'm wearing, that I love.

Purple goodness

Hi everyone :)

This is a post on Barry M - Vivid Purple. I had this stashed in my picture vault and think it's time to get it out and post it.

I LOVE this polish!

It's slightly darker than in the bottle but I don't mind. It goes on sooo smooth and in one coat (I always wear at least 2) and it's such a beautiful colour. It's a solid purple with no flash or in day light, but add a flash or incandescent light and watch the magic....

2. Tell us how the idea of making a blog popped up and what makes you continue it?
I was painting my nails and started to get some pretty interesting looks going on so started to photograph them. I then uploaded them to my laptop not planning on doing anything with them only saving them for myself as my husband certainly wasn't interested in nails and nail art! lol! I then thought who could I show these to? Someone who would appreciate them? Then I remembered the world of nail bloggers... so glad I did, I have met some wonderful people on here :)

3. Describe a usual day in your life.
No 2 days in my life are the same... I have 2 young children and with it being summer, well, if you have kids, you'll know! But mostly, it'll consist of getting up, VERY early making food, food and more food! My kids seem to have hollow legs! lol! Then entertaining them til they get bored, making even more food and bed as soon as the clock strikes 8, so I can relax and get some blogging done! :)

Tbh, I'm that much of a noob, I'm not even sure what this means! lol!

6. Describe what having a blog means to you.
To me, it means I have somewhere to post my many pictures of nails that I know other people will want to look at rather than showing my husband and saying 'look at these nails' and him kind of going, 'yeah, nice' without even looking. Bless him, he does try to be interested but I must drive him crazy, it would be like him showing me his new football boots and saying 'look look, aren't these great' lol!
